Gear-Grinding
Continuous gear-grinding is one of the most
important methods of manufacturing high precision gears. The gear grinding
wheel is profiled by means of a rotary diamond dressing tool. Gear dressers
are available from modules 0.35 (D.P. 72) for all common dressing systems
with profile modifications such as a chamfer and tip relief. Rotary diamond
dressers can be produced with a single layer of diamond (direct-plated)
or as a sintered version. The newest generation gear dressers utilizes
PCD reinforcing of the dresser tip of direct-plated diamond.
PCD-Reinforcement
The reinforcement of the dresser tip with handset synthetic diamonds (PCD)
improves the corner holding ability of the diamond dresser. The DR. KAISER
PCD reinforced dressers have a significantly longer life than standard
non-reinforced direct-plated dressers, especially in fine-pitch applications.
PCD reinforced dressers can be relapped and replated in the same manner
as standard dressers.
Gear Tooth Calculation
The profile of the dressing disc is calculated from the gear data by use
of proprietary software.
