Milestones in our company history
2025: Second management level
A second management level was created to relieve the management in day-to-day business and to implement the internal restructuring: In addition to commercial manager Sylvia Mertens, operations manager Dr.-Ing. Steffen Schulze and sales manager Christoph Müller were also granted power of attorney for the company.
2025: Logistics center
As a further step in the centralization strategy at the Celle-Altenhagen site, the new logistics center with around 1,500 m² is put into operation.
2024: Future-oriented restructuring of the company
Centralized structures and production centers are being created from the individual product areas. Together with the product division managers, the management developed this new corporate structure, which goes hand in hand with the customer-oriented role of the system provider and the expansion of the campus at the Celle-Altenhagen site.
2023: Electroplating center
The strong growth of the “electroplating tools” division, including for gear technology, requires an expansion of production capacity, which was limited at the existing site. The new electroplating center was therefore built in Celle-Altenhagen as the second construction phase. This was done using state-of-the-art technologies, including a comprehensive modernization of the energy supply through environmentally friendly measures.
2018: DR. KAISER App
DR. KAISER launches the first version of the DR. KAISER app, which supports users digitally and free of charge in guided or expert mode during dressing and grinding processes.
2018: Grinding center
The first construction phase takes place on the new company premises in Celle-Altenhagen, two kilometers away. Over the next few years, the entire company will gradually relocate here and expand to a total production area of up to 20,000 m², which will double the current capacity and is a clear commitment to the “Made in Celle” location.
2016: Application technology
In order to provide optimized customer support and application-oriented training seminars as a system provider, the application technology division was founded. A modern training center and test field is being created at the Celle-Altenhagen campus, where grinding and dressing seminars are held and test series are carried out. Customer-specific seminars as well as process consulting and optimization are also offered on site at customers’ premises – both in Germany and abroad.
2009: Vitrified tools
In order to strengthen its role as a system provider for grinding technology, the product range has been expanded to include vitrified bonded CBN and diamond grinding wheels. Developed for the in-house production of rotary diamond tools, where particularly high-performance grinding wheels were in demand, they have now been officially added to the portfolio since 2009. This is not just about sophisticated grinding with superabrasives, but also about an efficient dressing process that enables long tool life and a maximum number of workpieces.
2007: Management board
As a result of the steady growth, the company form was also changed in 2007: DR. KAISER DIAMANTWERKZEUGE GmbH & Co. KG.
Edmund Kellermann and Dr.-Ing. Tjark Lierse join the management team and continue to run the company together after the death of company founder Dr.-Ing. Michael Kaiser (2009). Dr.-Ing. Dirk Hessel, who is granted power of attorney in 2010, becomes the second managing director alongside Edmund Kellermann in 2013. Prof. Tjark Lierse takes up a professorship at Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts in 2010.
2007: Reverse plated products
The high-precision electroplated profile rollers (reverse plating) for geometrically complex grinding applications in series production is launched in 2007.
2004: Hard Machining
New product departments are established on the basis of existing ones in order to enable a compact and customer-oriented production organization. The product department “hard machining”, which produces electroplated CBN and diamond grinding wheels, is therefore created in 2004.
1995: Special tools
Customized special tools such as stationary dressing tools or dressing discs for CBN grinding wheels in various bond systems.
1989: Electroplated dressing tools
Precision electroplating began in 1989 with the production of electroplated dressing wheels, with special focus on the dressing of gear grinding.
1987: Spindle systems
In order to maximize performance of our rotary diamond dressers, a production department for dressing spindles using speed control and acoustic sensing technology was established.
1986: Wear protection
The first wear protection components are added to the DR. KAISER product range.
1979: Early years of the company
As early as 1979, the production of diamond dressing discs begins at the site ‘Am Wasserturm’, the former spinning mill. Over the years, the number of product areas grew steadily.
1978: Patent and first employees
The first employee was taken on and in 1981 the toolmaker and current partner and managing director Edmund Kellermann was hired as production manager and later plant manager.
1977: Company foundation
Visionary Dr.-Ing. Michael Kaiser founded his “shop for diamond tools” and continuously expanded it by establishing flexible, efficient production units. The office was initially located in the cellar and the production of stationary diamond dressing tools was carried out on simple small machines in a garden shed with an area of 7.55 m².
